All systems go!

posted 1 Apr 2018, 13:21 by Tony Kemp   [ updated 1 Feb 2019, 06:24 by terry Coleman ]

Registration is in the Stanwick Club HQ starting  at 8:30 am and closing at 10:00 am. Please try and arrive in good time as we will be very busy allocating race numbers which include the timing chips.  We normally operate 4 registration desks so please check the details, available at the HQ, and join the right queue as this will speed up the process.

Marshals are asked to attend a short briefing on the morning of the race at 9:30 am in the Race HQ (Stanwick Club) and will be given a particular section of the course to cover. (we really need you even if the weather is iffy, the safety of the runners and the continued option to run the race relies on you)

2019 10km and Fun run entries are now both open

posted 17 Jan 2018, 13:08 by Tony Kemp   [ updated 1 Feb 2019, 06:29 by terry Coleman ]

Online entries are now open for both the Stanwick Village Easter races 10km and Fun run. The Run Britain site is the only way to enter the 10km race, as it helps us prevent over-subscription and controls the data entry so we can easily send the correct info to our Chip Timers Emit-uk.

Some quick points.
  • Online entry only for the 10km
  • Please take care declaring your affiliated club, we will only take your first answer.
  • If you are not in a running club that is no problem. All runners welcome
  • If you CURRENTLY live in Stanwick, please inform registration.
  • No Headphones on the race route.
  • No dogs or buggies.
  • Runner numbers will be handed out at registration, not posted.
  • If you want a secured place in the fun run please use the online entry system as 'on the day' entries may not be guaranteed.
  • The village will be festooned with signs on the day giving directions to parking, first aid, registration etc.
  • Before the race full instructions will be sent out via email.
See you all soon.

1st 5km Glorun 2nd September 2017

posted 20 Jul 2017, 13:18 by Tony Kemp

The Stanwick races group organise the Easter 10 km and we have had the idea of a second event bubbling away behind the scenes for nearly 2 years now, thanks to Vice Chairman- Terry Coleman, we are now in a position to announce the date and venue for the evening race, starting from Stanwick Hall the course has been measured, we have first aid cover, insurance, and the support of the LittleFoot Festival.

What we need now is runners to make the event a success.

The event is for runners aged 16 and over.

The race will be on a closed road leaving the village towards Higham Ferrers and back again. the 5 Km route offers fab views of the countryside around the village, which we hope will be filled with GlowStick bearing neon runners having a fun time this September.

Even if you are a weekend runner, a couch to 5k runner or part of a club, the event promises to be fun for all.

We have limited to places to 200 runners and entries are open now. so don't delay

Fun run results are up

The Stanwick Races group - truly hope all the runners and supporters enjoyed this Easters race.

We have a Wash-up meeting planned, where we go through what worked well, what could have been better, and reflect on comments from runners, Stanwick residents and other involved parties.

If you want to add something please send us a comment to via the face book group.
