2018 10km and Fun run entries are now both open

posted 17 Jan 2018, 13:08 by Tony Kemp   [ updated 17 Jan 2018, 13:11 ]

Online entries are now open for both the Stanwick Village Easter races 10km and Fun run. The Run Britain site is the only way to enter the 10km race, as it helps us prevent over-subscription and controls the data entry so we can easily send the correct info to our Chip Timers Emit-uk.

Some quick points.
  • Online entry only for the 10km
  • Please take care declaring your affiliated club, we will only take your first answer.
  • If you are not in a running club that is no problem. All runners welcome
  • No Headphones on the race route.
  • No dogs or buggies.
  • Runner numbers will be handed out at registration, not posted.
  • If you want a secured place in the fun run please use the online entry system as 'on the day' entries may not be guaranteed.
  • The village will be festooned with signs on the day giving directions to parking, first aid, registration etc.
  • Before the race full instructions will be sent out via email.
See you all soon.

Calling 5km runners - we need you!

There are still spaces for the upcoming 5km Glorun, and we would really love to see you there. Stanwick will be awash with cool people as we are holding the race, alongside the 2nd Littlefoot festival. For serious runners the course is measured and will be run under UKA rules, we hope it will be a fun evening for everyone of any ability. It's not too late to enter please support our first event outside the Annual Easter run.

The fabulous actor Larry Lamb will be starting the run after appearing at the festival.

1st 5km Glorun 2nd September 2017

The Stanwick races group organise the Easter 10 km and we have had the idea of a second event bubbling away behind the scenes for nearly 2 years now, thanks to Vice Chairman- Terry Coleman, we are now in a position to announce the date and venue for the evening race, starting from Stanwick Hall the course has been measured, we have first aid cover, insurance, and the support of the LittleFoot Festival.

What we need now is runners to make the event a success.

The event is for runners aged 16 and over.

The race will be on a closed road leaving the village towards Higham Ferrers and back again. the 5 Km route offers fab views of the countryside around the village, which we hope will be filled with GlowStick bearing neon runners having a fun time this September.

Even if you are a weekend runner, a couch to 5k runner or part of a club, the event promises to be fun for all.

We have limited to places to 200 runners and entries are open now. so don't delay

The Stanwick Races group - truly hope all the runners and supporters enjoyed this Easters race.

We have a Wash-up meeting planned, where we go through what worked well, what could have been better, and reflect on comments from runners, Stanwick residents and other involved parties.

If you want to add something please send us a comment to via the face book group.

So the race is full! Tonight is the final pre-race meeting for the volunteers of the Stanwick Races group. If you can help run the race for a few hours on Monday please pop down to tonights meeting from 7PM at the Stanwick Village Hall Spencer Parade.- we can't run the race without the proper number of marshals and volunteers to do it safety. even if you can only spare a hour or so that would really help.

For runners a information email will be sent out shortly with all the detail you need for race day.

Race entries are now open!

We are now all set for 10Km and fun run runners to book in through the online Run Britain website.
We ask all runners to book in in this way so that we get nice clear data we can pass on to our chip timers. With the added benefit that the Run Britain site, allocates spaces as runners book so there is less chance of double bookings.
With that in mind please ensure that when you book in that you choose your correct running club affiliation, or select un-affiliated. (You don't need to be part of a running club to take part) but if you are no changing your mind after registering. :)

We will not be accepting entries on the day, so please register soon, they race does fill up each year.

We would love to see a strong turn out for the 2 km fun run which is for under 15's only. See Run Britain Website for entry details.

See you all soon.
